Summer Reading

What a blast!  The summer reading program concluded last Wednesday.  Kids read and read and read all summer!  A great turn out and some cool programs.  Lot’s of creativity at THIS library, thanks to Sandy and Nick!  Thank you Parents for bringing your children to the library all summer long.  Stop in any time if you didn’t get a certificate and final gift!


Steve Coffman and Michael Czarnecki Wed August 12

Steve and Michael will lead a poetry and non fiction workshop on Wed August 12.  We’ll meet on at the library at 1:30 and go on to Byron Park to write about birds and nature. Please bring some of your work to share!

That evening at 7:00 PM we will have a poetry reading at the library. This event is free and open to the public and is underwritten by the Friends of the Library and through Poets& Writers, Inc. with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts,  a State Agency.  Thank you P&W!!

Next book discussion/ movie

“The Time Traveler’s Wife” by Audrey Niffenegger will be devoured along with a pot luck on Saturday, October 10.  This movie opens shortly will be playing at the Lake Theater in coordination with our program.  It will be fun to see how this book translates to the big screen.  Did you know that the main character is a librarian?
